Psalm 56

You number my wanderings; Put my tears into Your bottle; Are they not in Your book? Ps. 56:8 (NKJV) As a child of God, we have many reassurances in this present life and for our life after death.

“You number my wanderings” – God knows where we are at any given time. Our locator sensor is always turned on and we cannot turn it off. Adam and Eve couldn’t turn it off when they hid from God in the Garden. Jonah couldn’t turn it off in the belly of the great fish. And Saul’s sensor was on extra strong as he traveled to Damascus. God knew where they were, and He can just as easily find us. Although not so comforting when we are in the throes of sin; it is extremely comforting when we are scared and feel like we are alone against Satan. We aren’t alone. God is with us.

“Put my tears in Your bottle” – God feels our pain. From the beginning of time God was aware that, because of sin, humans would experience pain. Because of the sins of the world and not His own, Jesus suffered extreme pain and agony during His final hours on earth. But God has prepared a place for us where there will be no more pain. “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4

“Are they not in Your book?” - David knew that God knows and sees and keeps record of our sufferings David knew he could rely on God to protect and save him. “Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You. In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?” Psalm 56:3-4

Are you afraid? Are you sad? Read Psalm 56 and know that God sees you and He is supporting you. He will not fail you.
